Storm Damage

Hail- We all know what hail looks like. Most people believe if the hail did not damage my cars it likely did not damage my roof. This is the exact opposite of the truth. Even though hail was not large enough to damage or dent your vehicle. It can certainly be enough to damage your roof. Every roof is different and several factors come into play other than the hail size.
(Type of shingle, Age of the Roof, Steepness of the Roof)

Why should I change my roof after a hailstorm?

One of the main reasons, other than aesthetics, is that the damage sustained during a hailstorm will shorten the life of your roof. This happens by hail striking the granules off the shingle or tearing through the shingle. Time and the seasons do the rest from there. The exposed asphalt cannot withstand direct sun as good and will begin to deteriorate. Rain will help remove any loose granules or asphalt speeding up the process. By the time you may notice a leak it may be too late. You were probably with a different carrier or you only had a year to report damages and can no longer make a valid claim. It makes it more difficult to secure a proper settlement from your insurance.

Wind- Wind damages can occur in several ways. Whether that means ripped shingles from you roof. Shingles that were separated from the bond and folded back.  Even shingle that were bent back and re-glue themselves with the heat. Siding removed from building. Siding that is no longer fastened properly. Fence blown over, poles bent.
